Soul's Remnant Blue Shard: How to Get It & What It's For
Soul's Remnant Blue Shard: mine blue ore veins, craft at Blacksmithing level 2 from Blue Crystals, or farm Haunted Flame, Phantom and Elemental for drops.
Updated Sep 1, 2026
The Blue Shard is a crafting material in Soul's Remnant described in-game as "It floats on its own." You get it by mining blue ore veins, crafting it at Blacksmithing level 2 from Blue Crystals, or looting it from a small set of monsters. This page collects what the official wiki lists — with the usual Early Access caveat that exact values can change.
What the Blue Shard is
The Blue Shard is a Material with rarity 1 that sits in the materials inventory tab. Its listed tooltip is simply "It floats on its own." It is a low-tier material you will accumulate while mining blue ore veins in early zones, and crafting with it grants Blacksmithing EXP.
How to get Blue Shards
- Mining blue ore veins — the primary source listed on the official wiki.
- Blacksmithing — craft it yourself: the recipe is Blue Crystal ×1 for 2 Blue Shards, requiring Blacksmithing level 2, with a 100% success rate at the listed Blacksmithing level.
- Monster drops — the wiki lists Haunted Flame (1%), Phantom (1%), and Elemental (4%).
The community database (th.gl) also indexes the Blue Shard; it does not publish different numbers from the wiki.
Blue Crystals: the crafting source
Blue Shards are made from Blue Crystals, but the crystal is the rarer item: Blue Crystal is rarity 5 with the tooltip "It's glowing blue and feels very... magical." It is obtained by mining blue ore veins and achieving a perfect (S-grade) mining result. Because one crystal converts into just 2 shards, the wiki's general advice is that turning crystals into shards is not recommended — mine shards directly from blue ore veins and save crystals for higher-value crafts.
What Blue Shards are used for
The wiki's item page does not list a recipe table for the Blue Shard itself, which likely means it feeds into early weapon and blacksmithing recipes rather than a single famous craft. In practice, low-level materials like this are consumed in bulk by Blacksmithing recipes and traded between players in the auction house and player shops. If you are farming specifically for shards, mining blue veins in early mining zones is the reliable route; monster drops are incidental.
Does the drop rate matter for your build?
Blue Shards are a common-enough material that they rarely gate a build by themselves. What matters more is having Blacksmithing leveled so you can use the shards you mine. The drop rates above are included for reference from the official wiki as checked in September 2026 — during Early Access, values can change without warning.
