Soul's Remnant Best Builds: Archer, Mage, Paladin & More
Soul's Remnant best builds from launch week: crit archer, pure mage, paladin, faith support and magic blade with stat splits, skills and gear tips.
Updated Aug 19, 2026
Soul's Remnant has no classes, so every build is a combination of stat points, skills, and gear you assemble yourself. The five builds below are the setups launch-week players converged on: a crit archer, a pure mage, a paladin, a faith support, and a magic blade. These are player builds, not official recommendations — treat them as starting points you can reshape freely.
How builds work
A build has three layers. Stats decide your damage type and survivability; skills decide how you fight; gear — especially Echoes — fine-tunes the numbers. Match your main stat to your skills: STR powers melee, DEX powers range, INT powers magic, and SPR powers faith. Every build also wants CON; the launch-week rule is to put about 25–30% of your points into CON and the rest into your main stat, a 3:1 split that keeps you alive in level 20+ zones. You can respec freely below level 10, and later for a Soul Crystal fee that rises with your level.
The five launch builds at a glance
- Crit Archer — DEX + LUK, about 25% CON. Skills: Ninja Throw, Triple Throw, Arrow Rain. Best for solo kiting and fast clears.
- Pure Mage — INT, about 25% CON. Skills: Magic Burst, Nova, Soul Bomb, Blink. Best for AoE farming and fast travel.
- Paladin — STR + SPR, extra CON after 20. Skills: Slash, Heavy Strike, Revitalize, Burst Shield. Best for solo survival and dungeons.
- Faith Support — SPR, keep the 3:1 CON habit. Skills: Revitalize, Armor Link, Divine Blessing, Nova. Best for parties and dungeons.
- Magic Blade — STR + INT split. Skills: melee skills plus magic burst skills and Blink. A hybrid style build.
Skills: level them by using them
Each skill levels individually by use and needs monster-dropped essences to upgrade, so pick two or three skills you will actually use and feed them. Blink, unlocked at magic level 10, is the one skill almost every build wants for movement. Skills fall into four lines — melee, ranged, magic, and faith — and using any skill in a line levels that line, unlocking more powerful skills further down. Once learned, skills go into your skill bar or into a macro that fires them back-to-back from a single button.
Crit Archer details
Put most of your points into DEX for range damage and push LUK for critical chance — players mention around 100 luck as a target. Keep about 25% in CON because the build is squishy. Run Ninja Throw for quick damage, Triple Throw when it unlocks, and Arrow Rain for groups; Blink is still worth taking for kiting and travel. Gear: prioritize range damage and critical hit rate, then stack Echoes — the wiki recommends keeping two Echo lines on every piece.
Pure Mage details
The pure mage puts everything into INT and leans on burst and AoE. Push the magic line to level 10 early for Blink, then Nova and Soul Bomb clear packs, with Flamethrower opening up at magic level 15. Magic Burst is your basic spell. Gear: magic damage and magic attack speed beats raw level; crafted or dungeon gear with those rolls is ideal, and upgrade slots let Gems add another layer on top of Echoes.
Paladin details
STR powers your weapon skills while faith's Revitalize heals and Burst Shield reflects damage. Slash and Heavy Strike deal damage, Shield Slam unlocks at melee level 15 for crowd control, and Taunt pulls aggro. The paladin clears slower than damage builds but almost never falls over — the solo build players recommend when you keep dying. Gear: defense and HP regen.
Faith Support details
The support build stacks SPR and runs Revitalize, Armor Link, Divine Blessing, and Nova. Armor Link is a standout: one in-game tooltip shows the linked ally taking 35% less damage while you take that damage for them, rising to 45% at 100 constitution, with half of every heal you receive flowing to them. Faith support is what makes dungeon parties feel safe, and the community notes support characters benefit from gear with faith damage and MP.
What the community is actually playing
On the official subreddit, launch-week players reported strong results with melee/faith ("crazy good" in one thread) and ranged/faith — ranged attacks are slow but fully mobile, hit hard, and effectively train all four combat types at once, opening the skill tree faster. Buffs like Blood Sacrifice and Vanguard get mentioned for training. There is no consensus on elemental potency versus critical damage — one player at 170% crit damage still could not decide.
