What is Soul's Remnant?

A free-to-play 2D platformer MMORPG by indie developer Chaomoon, inspired by MapleStory, Mabinogi and Ragnarok Online. It launched in Steam Early Access on August 13, 2026, with no purchase price and a cosmetics-only cash shop.

Is Soul's Remnant an MMO?

Yes. It runs on one shared server with real-time multiplayer: parties, guilds, housing, an Auction House and world bosses. Party size is small (group-based) rather than massive-scale, but the world is genuinely shared.

Is Soul's Remnant free to play?

Yes. The game is free on Steam — no purchase price, cosmetics-only cash shop.

Does Soul's Remnant have classes?

No — the game is classless. Mix Melee, Range, Magic and Faith skills freely. Six core stats (STR/DEX/INT/SPR/CON/LUK) shape your build, and skills level up as you use them.

STR (melee), DEX (range), INT (magic), SPR (faith), CON (health/DEF) and LUK (critical chance). Most builds put about 25–30% of points into CON.

How do skills work?

Skills belong to Melee, Range, Magic or Faith categories, level individually by use, and need monster-dropped essences to upgrade. Macros chain skills to one button; Loadouts save equipment, skills and macros.

Are there dungeons?

Yes — Slime Garden (Lv 10), Plains Dungeon (Lv 20) and Cave Trial (Lv 30), each with Hard and Extreme tiers up to Lv 90. Layouts are randomly generated, and Silver Chests drop auras and furniture.

How do I get an aura?

What are gems and echoes?

Gems upgrade gear by consuming upgrade slots (low chance to drop from any monster). Echoes are rolls on gear — Auras and Weapons are the only equipment that can roll Attack Speed Echoes. The wiki recommends two echo lines per piece.

Can I respec?

Respecs are free before level 10 and once per real-life hour after, with a Soul Crystal fee that rises with your level. Because skills — not classes — drive your kit, most "respec" needs are solved by swapping skills.

Is there crossplay?

Windows, macOS and Linux players share the same server via Steam. There is no console version (待确认).
