Soul's Remnant Dull Ghostly Essence: How to Get & Use It

Dull Ghostly Essence is a crafting material in Soul's Remnant — "Essence of ghost. Can be used to upgrade the skill and crafting." You get it by crafting, from dungeon chests, from monster drops, and from quest rewards, and it feeds into dozens of weapon and armor recipes plus the Energetic Soul craft. What it is

Dull Ghostly Essence sits in the Mats inventory tab, is tradable, craftable, and can also be claimed with Mystery Tickets. It is the low-tier version of Ghostly Essence and, like all Dull essences, it exists to be refined upward or consumed in bulk by crafting recipes.

How to get Dull Ghostly Essence

• Craft it — Alchemy level 5: 1 Ghostly Essence + 100 Soul Crystal → 2 Dull Ghostly Essence.
• Dungeon chests — Slime Garden (Normal, level 10): Silver Chest 25% and Wooden Chest 25% drop it. Plains Dungeon (Normal, level 20): Silver Chest 25% and Wooden Chest 25%.
• Monster drops — Troppo 12.5%, Monoghoul 12.5%, Spot Slime 12.5%, and Soultree 8.33%.
• Quest rewards — the wiki lists Quest Rewards as a source, but does not name the specific quests; check the quest window as you play.

What it is used for

• Energetic Soul (Alchemy 15) — needs 40 of each of the seven Dull essences (Life, Raging, Historic, Nurturing, Metal, Eternal, Ghostly), 10 each of Green, Red, and Blue Herb, and 1,500 Soul Crystal.
• Ghostly Essence (Alchemy 30) — 3 Dull Ghostly Essence + 150 Soul Crystal.
• Weapon Smithing — Copper Sword (level 8, 15 Copper Ingot + 20 essence), Quartz Spellblade (level 15), Iron Holy Arrow (level 19), Petrified Sword (level 27).
• Armor Crafting — Cotton Priest Bottom (level 9), Quartz Leg Plate (level 15), Yellow Hunter Shoes (level 20), Iron Chest Plate (level 22), Glowing Hunter Shoes (level 26), Glowing Hunter Robe (level 28), Silverleaf Scholar Hat (level 31), and more.

The Energetic Soul recipe is the big one for progression: it converts seven Dull essences into a higher-tier soul, which is a common requirement as you climb crafting levels.

Why players farm it

Dull Ghostly Essence is one of the seven Dull essences every crafter needs in equal measure, so it is a regular bottleneck. The 12.5% drops from common monsters make it one of the easier essences to farm, and the dungeon chests give you a way to collect it while doing daily runs. If you are crafting weapons, keep 20–65 on hand depending on the recipe.
