Soul's Remnant Classes & Builds

4 build paths, 6 stats, 100+ skills — the complete breakdown of Soul's Remnant's classless system.

Updated Aug 14, 2026

The 4 build paths

Build paths determine your main stat, armour type and identity. Unlike a traditional MMO, Soul's Remnant has no classes — switching skills completely changes which abilities you have access to, so each path plays multiple roles in practice.

PathRoleSummary
MeleeFrontline / Tank-DPSSTR powers heavy weapons and stagger-focused combat. The most forgiving path to learn.
RangeRanged DPS / KiteDEX bows and thrown skills with high mobility. Excellent for solo grinding.
MagicAoE / Burst CasterINT spells with the highest damage ceiling. Squishy, but melts grouped enemies.
FaithSupport / HybridSPR heals and party buffs. Best in dungeons, workable solo with the right skills.

The 6 core stats

Stats decide your damage type and survivability. Match your main stat to your skills, and keep about 25–30% of your points in CON.

StatWhat it does
STRPowers melee damage and heavy weapons.
DEXPowers range damage, bows and thrown skills.
INTPowers magic damage and magic attack speed.
SPRPowers faith damage and your MP pool.
CONHealth pool and DEF — every build wants some.
LUKCritical hit chance and lucky procs.

Best build combos for co-op

Classless doesn't mean random — these are the combos launch-week parties converged on.

Should you respec?

Respecs are free before level 10 and once per real-life hour after, with a Soul Crystal fee that rises with your level. Because skills — not classes — drive your kit, most "respec" needs are solved by swapping skills or stats rather than starting over.

Build deep-dives

Melee — best for new players

The most forgiving path. Heavy weapons, the highest base survivability, and a stagger-focused kit that punishes greedy bosses. Pair a Greatsword (single-target) with a Sword & Shield (panic block). Solo viability: 8/10. Group viability: 9.5/10. See the melee build guide for the full breakdown.

Range — best for solo players

The smoothest solo experience in Soul's Remnant. High mobility keeps you safe, traps cover panic moments, and burst at range ends fights fast. Solo viability: 9.5/10. Group viability: 7/10 (lower stagger contribution). See the range build guide.

Magic — highest damage ceiling

The fastest boss-killer in groups, but fragile early levels make solo Magic rough. Best in trios with Melee + Faith. Solo viability: 6.5/10. Group viability: 9/10. See the magic build guide.

Faith — flex support

The most flexible path. Heals and buffs keep a whole party alive in dungeons; with the right skills it can flex into damage when needed. Solo viability: 7/10. Group viability: 9/10. See the faith build guide.

FAQ — Soul's Remnant classes

How many build paths are there?

Four — Melee, Range, Magic and Faith. There are no classes, so every path can wield multiple skill lines and play multiple roles in practice.

Best path for beginners?

Melee — highest base survivability and the most forgiving combat. Range is a close second thanks to mobility and kiting. Avoid Magic as your first path; the early levels are punishing.

Best path for solo play?

Range (9.5/10 solo). Kiting keeps you alive while you snipe from range. Melee is the second-best solo path.

Best path for co-op / groups?

Melee + Faith + Magic is the trio meta. Add a Range as the 4th for utility in harder dungeons.

Can I switch paths in Soul's Remnant?

Yes — there are no classes. You can change stats, skills and gear whenever you like; respecs are free before level 10 and cheap after.

How does the stat system work?

Six core stats (STR/DEX/INT/SPR/CON/LUK) shape your build. Put about 25–30% of your points into CON and the rest into your main stat — a 3:1 split that keeps you alive in the level 20+ zones.
